Harry Truman famously had a sign on his desk that stated "the buck stops here." The "passing of the buck" as a dodging of responsibility is believed to originate in Old West poker, where the responsibility of being the dealer was often marked with a knife with a buckhorn handle, and those who wished to pass rather than deal were said to "pass the buck."
Our President has dodged responsibility for every major scandal, faux pas, lie, and otherwise misdeed of his Administration. The "buck" is perpetually in motion in Obama's Washington.
Likewise, appointees like the grossly-incompetent-if-not-criminal Attorney General have likewise convinced the American people that it's not reasonable to expect such a large bureaucracy to function without the occasional criminal act or outrageous misdeed. They aren't responsible for the misdeeds—they are victims as well and they share your outrage! They will get to the bottom of it. Just give them time (and a little more money).
Our Federal government is out of control, and we need look no further than the Orwellian-named Justice Department. Good people are being prosecuted and criminals are escaping scrutiny. There is growing evidence that the law-enforcers are actually law-breakers.
What ever happened to a government "of laws, and not of men"? I think it's gone—at least until you replace the people who think they *are* the law with those who think they *serve* the law.
Meanwhile, the buck will be passed around in perpetuity until eventually it loses all energy and no one cares anymore. The Obama administration, aided by its media accolytes, will weather another storm and move onto its next mischievous undertaking.
